Director, European Security Programme, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute

Dr. Ian Anthony is the Director of the European Security Programme at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Previously he was SIPRI’s Director of the Arms Control, Disarmament and Nonproliferation Programme. His current research interests include the evolving strategic environment in Europe, with a particular focus on the implications for the European system of arms control and confidence and security building. Dr. Anthony received a B.A. in History from Kings College, University of London and an M.A. and Ph.D. in War Studies from Kings College, University of London.
