Myoung-Gyon Cho
Minister of Unification, Republic of Korea
Minister Myoung-Gyon Cho has been the Minister of Unification from July 2017. Previously, he served as the Secretary to the President of Unification, Diplomacy and Security in the Office of the President during the Roh Moo-Hyun Administration. He oversaw the Light-water Reactor Project and Gaesong Industrial Complex as Director General of both from 2000 to 2006 within the Ministry of Unification. Prior to that, he held numerous roles within the Ministry after joining it in 1980. Between 1998 and 1999, Minister Cho was a Visiting Scholar at the Hudson Institute in the US. He has BA in Statistics from Sungkyunkwan University and an MA in Public Administration from Seoul National University.
